Behind the Lens
British born photographer Howie Simons, originates from a small market town in the heart of the North Yorkshire Dales. Referred to by locals as ‘Gods Own Country’, unsurprisingly rolling fields, ancient forests and dry stone walls pathed the way for an adventurous upbringing.
Venturing solo to the western Scottish Isles at 16, working as a deckhand on a local whale watching boat in Tobermory, the open ocean distilled a sense of wanderlust with eyes fixed on the horizon.
Having graduated from University with a Honours BSC Marine Biology Degree and as a PADI Divemaster, the best part of the next decade would be spent travelling from the northern reaches of Canada to the southern tip of New Zealand.

After years of travel it became apparent that the 9-5 was never an option. Instead I found purpose in a passion, which led the way to believing in a more creative output.
